I think you are absolutely right. The confusion and obfuscation were intentional, and it worked terribly well. The left are able to muddy the waters to the point where reasonable discussion is virtually impossible. No one knows what the words mean.
"The principal weapon of the left is the derogation of the language." - pretty sure I'm quoting broadcaster Rush Limbaugh on that; alas, searching the web to verify the quote was "no results found" - obvs search engines can't let us plebes find such incendiary hatespeech
Intriguing idea. What kind of content would such a personal statement of mission contain? Would it be about one's thinking on big issues or personal issues?
RF; If it isn't obvious yet, I'm a really basic(simple) Man. I have to practice the "K,I,S.S." principle. The simpler I keep things, the better they work (for me). I did specify "Personal"??
I think if everyone started out simple; it is easy to add other layers....
It could be as easy as one single thing to accomplish, or one red line you won't cross?
Be choosy, once you actually "Write" it, you can't delete!!!!!!
RF; You will never see me touted as a Motivational Speaker, a Life Coach, or on the Celebrity Circuit with Jordan Peterson. I have no academic qualifications. All I have is experience and the counselling of wise people.
Simplicity is my only trick. Whether it is your own life (Mission), or involvements with external entities; understand that 'Every Complication' has a "Cost".
"Don't be evil" is Google's former motto, and a phrase used in Google's corporate code of conduct.
Following Google's corporate restructuring under the conglomerate Alphabet Inc. in October 2015, Alphabet took "Do the right thing" as its motto, also forming the opening of its corporate code of conduct. The original motto was retained in Google's code of conduct, now a subsidiary of Alphabet. Between 21 April and 4 May 2018, the motto was removed from the code of conduct's preface and retained in its last sentence.
I'm afraid this nolonger matters.
The confusion and obfuscation of the "Uni Party" has left most citizens unable to articulate what they want or what they believe.

also, they could just meld in to Imperial purple at this point, given the utter lack of difference in policy we get from one side or the other
Just so! I have a piece coming up wherein I compare the federal government to the Detroit 1930s mafia-style crime syndicate the Purple Gang.
This is the situation which makes me suggest that Everybody should write their personal "Mission Statement" on paper.
Maybe we can't change Policy. But, if we have our personal statement in black and white; then we at least have something to measure and compare to??

Ok.
1. One red line that I won't cross.
2. I can't delete!!!!
3. Add more layers over time.
I'll give it a try.

Yes, simplicity may be the best trick. If you can stand back and discern the essence, then you are way ahead.
BTW My first Red Line that I Will Not Cross or Erase is:
"God is real, I am here to do His will, I will never renounce Him."
But that's just me.
Heehee...You don't make things easy for yourself??
But, it is a first step.
In fact, if you go that route, you might not need any more.
Not quite as straight forward for agnostics?
This is what happens when you rewrite|
