Well done sir! Jesus said, "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” (Matthew 15:11)
addressed wording & how powerful it is in framing an issue. For instance remember how homosexuals wanted us to recognize their “unions” with a partner of the same sex? We did. I believe that term was used in legal matters. Then we began to hear a new term “same-sex marriage.” Wait! What? Marriage was instituted by God between one man & one woman for companionship & procreation.
Wasn’t long til most of us were using that term too. Pro-life vs. anti-abortion.
Abortion Rights became Reproductive Rights. Words matter..
40 years ago, liberals still maintained some tenuous contact with the original meaning of liberal. Liberal intellectuals religiously read John Stuart Mills' "On Liberty."
Today, the Democrats have been taken over by Internazis.
Not really. 40 years ago was 1984. And by then the left had completely REVERSED the meaning of 'liberal' and were its direct OPPOSITE. Did you read the post?
If any real leftists ever read "On liberty" they utterly failed to understand or believe it. The Democrats weren't taken over by anything or anybody on the Internet. They have been left- wing socialists since FDR and before.
In 1984, the left was better on free speech than the right. Yes, the spectre of Political Correctness was on the horizon, but at this time the ACLU was still defending the right of Nazis to march. And yes, I knew lefties who loved debate and read On Liberty back in 1984.
The phase change where the left went from liberal to internazi happened around the time Obama got elected. That's when things started getting truly ugly. Prior to that I was able to attend progressive meetings openly as a Libertarian and push populist ideas.
Before the rise of Obama, I got more threats from Republicans than progressives when promoting liberty.
Yes. I worked with classical liberals in Seattle from the turn of the century. They had good character and were always ready for a discussion/ debate. privately or at political events, usually to discuss laws and proposed laws, mental health and addiction treatment capabilities, etc, funding and their effects on citizens. These were productive and well attended by politicians, agency leaders and the Bar associations. The discussion usually continued good naturedly in the foyers and the parking lot. Things turned on a dime around 2007, people afraid to speak up and activists speaking very loudly. Losing your job because of your beliefs became common in the next few years, many just left the state. The Emerald City was and is ruined. No critical thinking skills allowed, curiosity will end you.

For me the real sadness comes from the fact that "the government" is no longer "OUR government"...
Yes, a government that is no longer accountable to the people is not a republic.
Excellent!
I heard a speech by Phyllis Schlafly where she

Yes, you are right on all counts. Words matter. And the when leftists get their way, them make new claims and demand new kinds of government control.
Stellar journalism. Excellent analysis. 👏 Much appreciated.
Must read for our young people who aren't yet captured by deviant Professors or soap opera media "news" Personalities.
Well said! And enlightening.
It's an OLD trick, be-fouling the language so that people are confused about everything.

Citizens suffer Stockholm Syndrome symptoms.
